We don't "treat" menopause because it's not a disease! Our Naturopathic Doctors and Physiotherapists understand the challenges you are experiencing and focus on therapies that help women enhance their quality of life through the menopause transition.

Why We're Different
The Living Fit 4 Menopause program is based on 4 principles combining Naturopathic Medicine and Physiotherapy.
ONE
Nutrition & Weight Management
Nutritional needs shift during menopause to focus on increasing muscle mass, reducing visceral fat, and supporting brain and bone health. During the initial appointment, all aspects of your health and your daily schedule are discussed with the Naturopathic Doctor. An InBody Body Composition analysis is performed each visit, and blood work may be recommended to identify vitamin deficiencies or food sensitivities.

Each of the following factors are taken into account when developing your unique, realistic plan focusing on re-creating healthy eating habits, long-term weight loss and improving metabolism based on macros (proteins, carbs, fats):
-
Protein intake
-
Portion size
-
Meal timing
-
Current daily movement & Exercise
-
Stress & Sleep quality
-
Daily water intake
-
Gut Health
TWO
Exercise & Fitness
An individualized physiotherapy assessment for specific injuries or joint pain, or a general movement screening assessment is performed to ensure safe participation in an exercise program.
An exercise program is then tailored for you (using any equipment you have at home or at your gym), based on the following goals:
-
Building bone density
-
Increasing skeletal muscle mass
-
Decreasing total body fat %
-
Improving cardiovascular health without increasing cortisol levels
-
Balance and gait training for fall prevention
-
Improving sleep quality
-
Manage joint and muscle pain
THREE
Balancing Hormones & Stress
Each patient's hormonal journey from your first period, the timing of your cycle, PMS symptoms, heaviness or cramps during the flow, and menopause is discussed. The impact of stress on your body is also investigated.
Saliva, urine and blood tests are used to evaluate the following hormones:
-
Estrogen, Progesterone
-
FSH, LH
-
Testosterone, DHT
-
DHEAS
-
Insulin
-
Leptin
-
Cortisol
-
Thyroid
Bioidentical hormone restoration therapy (BHRT) and non-hormonal therapies (acupuncture, herbal supplements) are used by the Naturopathic Doctor to guide you into feeling confident and reassured about your long-term health.
FOUR
Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
Hormonal changes during perimenopause can weaken the pelvic floor muscles, leading to issues such as urinary incontinence, urgency, and pelvic organ prolapse. Other symptoms can include vaginal dryness, burning, or itching, painful intercourse, or decreased sensation.
Your Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy plan includes:
-
One-on-one confidential consultations in a comfortable and private clinic room.
-
Pelvic floor exercises: Targeted exercises to strengthen the muscles that support the bladder, uterus, and bowels.
-
Biofeedback: Techniques to improve awareness and control of pelvic floor muscles.
-
Education: Teaching proper techniques for bladder and bowel management, as well as lifestyle modifications to reduce symptoms.
